iHeart Math Holiday Hop

Holiday Greetings My Friends-

     I have the pleasure of linking up with several wonderful math bloggers for a month long holiday hop.
We are excited about this collaboration because each day you can access a different blogger with
great holiday tips and a special gift. Be sure to tune in everyday to read each blog post.

Holiday Tip #1: It is so important for teachers to take care of themselves during this stressful time of the year. With activities, events, and celebrations going on around you, remember to step back and take time for yourself. Make your night easier once in a while and cut back homework- OR- plan to go over it together in class so you can have an much needed relaxing evening at home.

Holiday Tip #2: When it comes to math and the holidays, use it to your advantage. Bring in holiday ads and some lessons about money, statistics (survey of favorite toys), graph the data, etc. Make it fun and engaging. Don't have time to stop and do these kinds or activities? No problem, exchange some of the story problems in your basal out with holiday problems, OR, challenge students to turn a set number of problems in their daily work into holiday based questions.

     Today, on the 6th day of our advent calender,  I would like to gift to you a FREE FULL WEEK of my  Daily Morning Math series! This program is based around Common Core Standards, but will fit into ANY math program. With just a few minutes a day, your students will get to practice and master basic skills that will prepare them for the next grade AND help them be successful on assessments! (Even if you don't teach 6th grade, go ahead and give it a whirl! I think you will LOVE it!)
