Seeds...

Seeds are interesting little items. It is one of the few things in life where you know what you are going to get before you start...or so one thinks.

Today I was the recipient of an amazing act of kindness. I am guessing that when the doer of this good deed planted the seed for me, that this person would have no idea the end result. Oh sure, they may have thought that sending a care package would make me smile and feel important. Well, it did. But it goes deeper than that.

When I found the box in my mailbox this morning, I realized something else- and this is the part I am not sure the sender knew about (although this person is pretty amazing and may have realized the outcome), I realized that life is so much better than I tend to notice. That really seems like a small thought to have surface, but I have been in a dark place for so long, that that bit of sunshine was very welcome.

So thank you dear friend, for your thoughtful act of kindness. I hope that I can return the favor one day in the future.

Kindness...Pass It On!

So, I have been overwhelmed this evening with an out pouring of kindness. Not only did I have several members of an on-line community encourage me as I struggled to finish my last major individual paper, I was the recipient of extended kindness by a friend who was exhausted and tired after teaching all day (along with all the other struggles that teachers face). This friend took my 3 page, single-spaced paper, and read and edited it for me. This friend, along with my wife, father, and other's have made it possible for me to survive. You will never know how much I appreciated that (well, you won't unless you read this blog post...)

I couldn't have done this without all of you...YES YOU, you know who you are!

Thanks for that.
