Kodak Returns...

I forgot to tell you the most (in retrospect) hilarious thing that happened! I was checking my e-mail over Christmas break and there is an e-mail from Kodak.

This is what I got:

Greetings John ,
The return unit for a KODAK All-in-One Printer sent to you on Advance Unit Replacement order EGP XXXX499, dated 10/29/09 has not yet been received at our repair facility. This e-mail is a reminder that your order is reaching the end of the time period allowed for the return of your defective unit (30 days from date specified).
Please be advised that unless you notify Kodak prior to the 30-day cutoff, an invoice will be generated for non-return of the item.
Kodak will follow-up on all returns using the courier Proof of Delivery (POD) information (shipper, date of pickup, and shipper waybill number). Without POD and/or confirming of receipt from destination location, an invoice will be generated.
If for some reason you did not receive a return-shipping label with your replacement printer or have misplaced it, please call Kodak Technical Support at 1.800.XXX-XXXX, 7:00 A.M. to Midnight - 7 days a week, so they may e-mail you a new return-shipping label for returning your defective printer. When calling, please reference your Case ID Number XXXX499.
Please promptly reply to this e-mail with any information you may have regarding the return of your printer, so we may address any issues or concerns. Please do not modify the subject line of this email in any way when replying.

Sincerely,

Hilary B

Basically I was told that I can return to the old printer or pay for the new one! This made me VERY ANGRY! In all the communication between Kodak and myself, it was never mentioned ONCE that the old printer would need to be returned!

So, this is what I e-mailed to my good buddy Mr. Frazier:

Mr. Frazier,

I received quite the surprise in my e-mail this morning. I received notification that if I did not send my old printer back in I would receive an invoice for the new one.
This was frustrating. YOU never mentioned that the old one needed to be returned and has hence been disposed off. you can even look back through our e-mails, it isn't there! I want to know how you are going to take care of this problem. If I receive a bill for the new printer, I will be most displeased. Please advise me of what you are planning to do to correct this issue!

I knew that he would respond. I was just waiting to see what he was going to do. It didn't take long before I got THIS response:

Dear Mr. Hughes,

I just checked with someone from the team that sends out those e-mails and you will not be billed since you did not receive an e-mail with the return instructions. You will also get another note from that team stating this, please print and save that note for your records.

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Ricky Frazier

I did finally get a final e-mail from Kodak stating that I did NOT have to return anything. Just when you think you are DONE with the whole mess, it sneaks back to bite you in the butt!

On other news,
our little family has made a goal to go and exercise at the school 3 nights a week (playing b-ball, jogging, tag, etc.). The kids had a blast today. We started with an hour event today. It was nice to get out and do some exercising. We are planning on having a nice dinner at my parents house this evening. Currently we are watching G.I. Joe. So far I am not that impressed. Lots of language (we don't have to hear it because of our TV Guardian in the DVD player- YEA!) and extremely violent. But, that is a war movie for you!

Anyways,

Later...

  1. Hahaha - I sent mine back even when they knew I wasn't a happy camper and still got a piece of crap in the "newer" printer. They can't pay me enough to own another Kodak printer ever in my life. I definitely won't recomend them to anyone either. If they would refund my money for this piece of crap sitting on my floor I'd be happy to send it back too. Of course we are going on a year since I made the first purchase. Needless to say I can't believe that Donald Trump endorsed the printers when they first came out - on that show of his - the apprentice - Guess that's what money does -

Maybe this will be the last of your Kodak woes.

As for the GI movie - well it is GI Joe - what were you expecting? Anyway - see you in class - E :)
