I am SO excited to be part of an amazing blog book club this summer. Our group will be reading Teaching with the Common Core Standards (Grades 3-5). (When you get to Amazon the picture shows that it is the K-2 book, but it really is the 3-5 book).
Here is what it looks like!
I always mark my Professional Development Books with the year and the group- that way I can easily see when and where I did the learning. This is great for getting points from my school.
The reason I am writing this post is to invite you, ALL OF YOU, to join us by getting the book, reading the chapters as outlined below and then share/converse/discuss what you read. This book is an amazing read. It goes into great depth about the LANGUAGE ARTS STANDARDS, explains why we have them, how to teach them, and pitfalls to be aware of.
Here are a few pictures of my first few pages. As you can see, I have been learning a LOT about the CCSS in Language Arts... ha ha.
Below is the reading schedule. I hope that you will join in! Get your book ordered today!
Format:
Each chapter will be hosted by one the the following amazing bloggers:
If your school will let you earn PD credits/points for joining, and you need documentation saying you participated, I would be happy, as the lead on this book club to send you a certificate of participation. In order for that to happen, you would need to make a showing on all postings!
Helpful Hint: Following each blogger above will help you keep track of current posts/discussions!
Here are the dates. The first chapter will be posted one week from today!
IT IS GOING TO ROCK!
If you plan to join in, please leave a comment so we know who you are! We can't wait to hear from you. WAHOO!

Please note: Even if you don't buy the book, I hope that you will join us for each post. I think you will really enjoy it! Come on, we need you to join us!
Can't wait! Grabbing the book this weekend. :)

Hi John! I am joining up! I am not sure which grade level (there is talk of K because we need to teach comprehension!) I will be teaching next year, so I am not going to buy the book yet. I am going to listen and learn though!
