Ahhhh....Everyone Loves Fridays!

Yes, I think that it goes without saying that Fridays are one of the biggest blessings of life. They are the day that allows one to think that making it through is possible. I don't want you to think that I had a bad day based on the opening of this post- Quite the contrary. I just SO enjoy the time that I get to be at home, and Fridays allow me to get a couple extra hours at home.

School went very well today. As a class, we were able to weed the flower beds. Boy were they pretty bad looking. But after about a hour of 24 people weeding (well, ok, mostly on-task weeding) the garden improved 100 times what it was. I am proud of their work. I really have a great class.

After school I was able to catch up on some projects that I really needed to complete. I am supposed to be getting a new student this coming week, so I had to add that name to my bulletin board displays and other such tasks.

I then headed over to tutoring. That didn't go very well. My tutee was NOT in the mood to do his work and actually left on the 4-wheeler in the middle of it. So I am heading back in the morning to see if we can actually get something done. Oh, the books that were ordered for my class by this students grandma came today. They are such nice books. It truly was too much to ask of anyone. Thank you to her- she deserves a lot of those!

My next task today was to mow my parents lawn. My father came home from the hospital today. He is doing REALLY well considering he knee was replaced on Monday morning. He looks tired (to be expected) and my mom is wiped out from sleeping in a Hospital bed all week and then having to drive home (she isn't big on driving). So I will be watching out for them for the next couple weeks to make sure all goes well. I got the lawn mowed and then my wife and I decided to do dinner for them and us at the same time. My wife makes THE BEST pizza ever. It is a vegetable pizza- and it is tasty! my parents also had a friend visiting that stayed for dinner as well. It was very pleasant.

And then it was time to leave.

My kids were making my father edgy and so we left. The kids are in their jammies (my middle and youngest sons are already sleeping) and playing Lego Star Wars. I think my oldest would die without that game. He lives and breathes Star Wars. My daughter is also picking up on it and they will play for HOURS together. It is funny.

My wife is hard at work at her little make-shift work station in our living room so she can watch the Olympics while she works, and I am fighting to keep my eyes open. It has been a very satisfying day, and I am looking forward to tomorrow. I have a lot I want to get done. So my dear friends, I will leave you with the thought that I am thankful once again for Fridays!

  1. I had no idea that "speak like a pirate day" is on my BIRTHDAY! How cool is that! Or something! Just thought I'd throw that in there! I think one of your class projects should be alphabetizing ALL your books... it could be an ongoing project since it would probably take the next 5 years! ;) Try not to stress too much... you're only 1 week in! :D
