I finished my 12 page paper last night and had my wife edit it. I fell asleep on the floor next to her while she was reading it. I remember her telling me it turned out well and that I needed to go to bed. Thanks for suffering through all the reading my love!
To celebrate the completion of summer classes I took the family to dinner tonight. Yes, I will admit we went to Burger King, but hey, it was nice to eat out. My oldest wasn't around to celebrate with us as he is with his grandparents at a gold club meeting in Colorado. He should be back sometime this evening.
I woke up really late this morning. In fact I was in a bit of a panic because I had summer school again today, and again I was alone. It all worked out as I only had 8 kids show up this time. It seems that the numbers are dwindling. I thought for sure that the kids would enjoy coming and being on the computers. I think they are getting tired of the same activities. Something to work on for next year.
After summer school ended, I went into my classroom and cleaned out my closet. I had purchased a heavy-duty shelving unit to put in there in hopes of actually organizing everything and being able to actually get to what I needed when I needed it. I had just thrown everything in there at the beginning of school last year due to having new carpet and only a couple of weeks to get everything ready. Not only did I get it organized, I threw away three garbage cans full of "stuff". I love the feeling of clean. I can't wait to get back in there and go to town on all my cupboards, corners, and cabinets. I plan to have a bunch less "stuff" when I am done. My wife was a real trooper and helped. My little one was amazing at keeping things everywhere but where they should have been. We were able to get my science all sorted out in to each unit that I teach. YEA ME!
After leaving the school (7 hours later) I headed home and watered the garden. It is looking SO good. We are picking squash almost daily. Our tomatoes are taking forever this year to produce anything. I guess that is okay...
Well, I promised the kids that I would go and play Mario Kart with them, so I better get over to the family room and do that. Have a great night.
Later...
P.S.- Don't forget about the Bountiful Baskets meeting at the city park pavillion at 7pm on Saturday. COME AND LEARN MORE!
