Okay,
So I think that my next letter to the State Legislature is going to include a push for a new traffic law! What you ask? (and if even if you aren't TOO bad- you get to read it anyway!)
If you are a driving a motorhome/RV/diesel/hunk of junk car and you see that you have more than 8 cars going 10-20 miles UNDER the speed limit behind you, because you simply CAN'T go faster, you, BY LAW, must pull over and let everyone else pass you. We spent a good 45 minutes going 10-20 miles UNDER the speed limit because an RV wouldn't pull over. There were approx. 20 cars behind him. I am suprised that people weren't throwing things at him and giving him the bird.
Anyways, we are here at the Hotel in the town of my next presentation. The kids are bouncing off the walls. My 1 year cried most of the way here. My wife and I discussed how nice it would be if we could put a sheet of sound proof plexi-glass between us and the kids with a little window (like a taxi cab) to feed them treats and shut out the noise, but alas, we can't, and it was a long trip. Made worse of course by the fact that out state never stops road construction and we were forced to run an obstacle course in our van. Swerving lanes and trying to figure out which of the painted line were THE painted lines, riding 5 inches from the cement divider and praying that a gust of wind didn't make your car kiss it! Good thing I play PLaystation's DRIVER on a regular basis!
The reunion went well. I will discuss it in more detail later tonight or tomorrow and I promise the bead and daughter story as well. I may be a little slow on the posts for the few days as I have a unit due to the MailBox Magazine soon and I need to focus on it more.
I am very excited that next week is my last week to present. Only three more presentations! YEA!
Well, time to go and feed the herd,
later...

Home Again- And Loving It
Well, after three days of camping I can honestly say that I am NOT an outdoors type of person. Don't get me wrong, Mother Nature is nice and all, but I prefer the "live in my house" type living.
We went to the Crystal Geyser Thrusday afternoon- we missed seeing it erupt by 20 minutes. Figures. We had a B-B-Q and visited for a few hours. Then we came back to camp and relaxed and setup camp(funny story there- when we went down at 2:30 to check-in, they informed us they needed to water for a least 2 hours before we could setup camp. WRONG! We let them water for an hour, but then we brought in the coolers and other Non-Tenty things.)
Everyone setup camp and that was day 1.
Day 2- We had breakfast (which my wife and I had to do as well since her sister didn't come) and then headed out to the River Beach. There is a place along the river near town that is sand just like a tropical beach. The river is shallow and you can wade and swim in the water close to shore. Her entire family and the kids all got in and had a blast. I chose to sit and watch. I think I have shared my view of swimming- if not, I dislike it very much. Anyways, we had a nice lunch at the beach and then headed back to camp. Everyone went to shower and, as runs our luck, they were cleaning the bathrooms, so that put everyone behind schedule. When everyone was ready we headed to my classroom and made paper rockets and launched them. Our family came in 3rd place. Not bad. It was fun and it was nice to be in the cooler air of the school. (They were also actually putting in the carpet that was supposed to be done by July 1st.) Afterwards we headed back and had a nice dinner (I LOVE dutchoven potatoes.) And my son's 1st birthday. YEA! It was fun. He got some great gifts and we gave him his own cake to eat- and BOY did he eat it!
That was pretty much last night.
Day 3- This morning we had a great breakfast and then played BUNKO. It was pretty fun. Then we broke camp, had lunch, and headed home. I am SO glad we only had to go down the street and unpack!
Well, you would never know it, but it about 5 hours after I started the original post. My wife's brother and his family stopped by for a few hours on their way back from their vacation in St. George. We had a nice visit. Then I had to Miracle-Grow the lawn and finish watering the garden. Now, it is time for All-Night Mario Kart. I do promise to finish the mouse story this week- And I am hoping for another Podcast as well.

10am and still 80degrees F
Howdy,
Last night was long, hot, and miserable. The temperature never dipped below 80. That is a killer. Usually we get down into the 60's, so that was a huge difference. I am outside fighting the gnats and watering out flowerbeds. The sun was behind clouds for about 2 hours, but now it is starting to sneak out. I know, I know. In 6 months I am going to wish that it was summer again. My favorite seasons are Spring and Fall. I love it when the temperature is perfect, the bugs are gone, and it gets dark at a reasonable time. The colors are just starting and it is so peaceful. Makes me remember growing up and loving it when the trees lost their leaves so we could rake them up and jump in them.
I can't believe that tomorrow is Sunday already. We are heading out again tomorrow after Church, back to the Salt Lake area. I have three presentations this week and my wife's reunion (which I have mentioned ALOT in past posts) to enjoy. It should be really fun. I can't say as I will get to do much blogging during that time, but you never know. Our van will hopefully make it where we need to go. I wish the mechanic could just figure it out. Hopefully this $70 sensor we are putting in will fix it.
Oh, yes. I must tell you about the mouse last night. We have had mice in our heating ducts. So I pulled out some old glue traps from when we lived up North. I put one in both kitchen vents since that is where they tend to congregate. We have already caught 2, and I was thinking that maybe we were all done. Last night we are watching TV and we hear this frantic screeching. I looked at my wife and said, "Another Mouse!". I just went back to watching TV for a while. I decided I had better take care of it before we went to bed so I open the vent and low and behold, the glue trap is gone! Uh Oh! (As my baby would say).

Another day has ended, where does the time go?
Greeting Readers,
Today was a GREAT day! I was able to do my presentation for my district. What made this even more challenging is that the district supervisor of elementary education came into watch and brought a bunch of other higher level administrators with him to watch. That was interesting. I enjoyed teaching the teachers, and I am glad that it is over and I get the chance to just attend this 3 day event as a participant now, and relax a little.
We had a great moment here in town today, the phones all went out- no credit card transactions in a tourist town- think about that. When I went to gas up the district car at the West Winds Truck Stop Several truckers were unable to pay for the fuel, but needed to get back on the road. It was causing LOTS of problems. My internet was also down- so that is why this is so late tonight.
My wife leaves in the morning. We got our van back. The mechanic said the car gave a code this time. It will require a $70 part, and he wants to be sure, so he said drive it this weekend and see if it does it again. Then he can check the code again and make sure it really is the correct fix for the car. I hate when cars do this. I stress out anyways, and don't need the extra stress- so I hope it gets figured out soon.
Well, since I have to be up and gone in 6 short hours, I better get some shut-eye. Have a great night-
